The PHS Athletic Hall of Fame was created in 2003 and exists to recognize and honor student athletes, coaches, teams and sports contributors for their achievements and/or contributions to the Petoskey Athletic program.

Athletic Hall of Fame Committee
Cindy Okerlund – Cindy graduated from Petoskey High School in 1979 where she was a stand-out multi-sport athlete earning several varsity letters. She was also the first female to receive the scholar-athlete award at Petoskey High School.
Erin Luckhardt – Erin was a standout athlete at PHS from 1998-2002 earning 10 varsity letters and All-State recognition in 3 sports. She went on to receive 1st Team All-American status in Volleyball in her collegiate career at Alma.
Gavin Fralick - A 1999 graduate of Petoskey High School, Gavin was a 3 sport varsity athlete. He went on to play football at Alma College. Gavin returned to Petoskey as a teacher in 2007 and has coached varsity football, varsity track, and middle school basketball.
Bess Bleyaert - Graduating from Petoskey High School in 1998, Bess was a scholar-athlete participating in three sports, most notably skiing where she earned assorted conference, regional, and state honors and three varsity letters. She has over 20 years of coaching experience in skiing, several with the PHS Ski Team.
Becky Friske - Becky graduated from Petoskey High School in 2002. She was a member of the Girls Varsity Tennis Team from 1998-2002, receiving All-State recognition and accruing over 100 wins. She is now a teacher at Lincoln Elementary. Becky began serving on the committee in 2021.
Dave Farley - Dave graduated from PHS in 1988 and ran for the cross country and track teams, earning all state recognition in cross country. He was a letter winner in track and cross country at the University of North Dakota. He has coached cross country and track at PHS.
Brent Hewitt - Brent graduated in 1977 from Petoskey High School. He played Varsity Basketball and lettered three years in Varsity Baseball. Brent coached basketball for Petoskey High School and Petoskey Middle School for 29 years. Mr. Hewitt has served as an Administrator at Petoskey High School 1999-present.
Joel Dohm – Petoskey High School's current Athletic Director who is a non-voting member of the Hall of Fame Committee.

Past Committee Members
Paul VanWagoner – Paul was a Petoskey High School teacher and coach for over 25 years and still officiates basketball and football across northern Michigan today. Paul played basketball at Alma College and is an avid sports historian.
Dave Moyer – A 1968 graduate of Petoskey High School, Dave was a multi-sport athlete who was named a 1st Team All-State Basketball player as a senior. He went on to play 3 years of football and one in basketball at Central Michigan University.
Karen Langs – Karen served as Petoskey High School’s Varsity Girls Tennis Coach for 25 years and is a member of the State of Michigan’s Tennis Coaches Hall of Fame.
Dick Harbaugh (1923-2017)– Dick graduated from PHS in 1941. Dick was a star athlete during that era and has been involved in youth, school and community athletics for his entire adult life. Dick was an original founding member of the Petoskey Parks and Recreation Department. He served on the Hall of Fame committee from its inception in 2003 until 2017.
Jerry Rosevear - Jerry graduated from Petoskey High School in 1958 and has been active in the sporting community for many years. He was the Sports Editor for the Petoskey News Review for 31 years.
